How to Apply

Applicants may submit one project proposal per funding round. Applications must be written in German. Applications must be submitted online. Applications or application documents submitted by post will not be considered. Please do not send any printed materials.

Online Application System

Submit your application and all attachments electronically.

To apply, please register with your name and email address to create an account in our application system. By registering, you agree to our privacy policy. As soon as a funding round is announced, you can work on and submit an application. You have the option to temporarily save and edit your application in your account before submission. Your documents will only be accessible to you until you submit your application.

We do not assume any liability for a potential overload of the server shortly before the submission deadline and advise you to submit your application early.

Requested Information

The application form will ask the following information from you:

  • Details on the applying person/association/company (incl. Name, entitlement to deduct input tax, legal status, address, communication, bank account details).
  • Information on funding of the project (Has funding for the project already been applied for elsewhere?)
  • Information on past funding by the inm (Have you already received funding from inm?)
  • Details of the last 5 funding awards (project name / format / year / funding institution / total) 
  • Lack of previous funding will not be considered a disadvantage. First-time applications are welcome.
  • Information on the project
    • Project name
    • Format
    • Timeframe
    • Event dates
  • Short description of the project

Please describe the proposed project in a few words and in a meaningful way. Please briefly describe the project goals and concrete steps for implementation. (What? How? Why? - max. 2,000 characters)

  • List of participating artists (name, instrument, formation)

Necessary Documents

The following attachments must be uploaded with the application:

  • Scan of the registration certificate or ID card (both sides) as proof of residence in Berlin.
  • If available: Confirmation of co-financing as pdf 
  • Letter of intent from venue
  • Detailed project description as pdf
  • In the detailed project description, you can explain your project at length and upload it as a pdf file. The maximum file size is 5 MB.
  • Artistic background of the applicants as pdf file
  • Profiles on the participating artists as pdf files

The following information can optionally be added to the application:

  • Audio/video examples as a file or link (password-protected, if necessary).
  • Score examples

Only applications submitted in full and on time can be processed and considered

Be sure to start the application in due time and prepare all required attachments. You can always save your work on your application and continue working on it at a later time. Once you have submitted your application, it can no longer be changed. You will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission. 

There is no entitlement to funding.
